Prague Fringe 2018

Should you be tempted to experience what a "Fringe" feels like, on your own or with some peers and your teacher, browse through the Prague Fringe website below. On the link, you'll find the programme with descriptions of who-what-where, and we can agree to go & see some of the events together.

The Prague Fringe takes place between May 25 and June 2 and for students, the price of a performance is 100 crowns.
"The Fringe"
The name refers to the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, started in 1947 and featuring 50,266 performances of 3,269 shows in 2016. It is an open access performing arts festival, meaning there is no selection committee, and anyone may participate, with any type of performance. The official Fringe programme categorises shows into sections for theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events.

There are many cities all over the world which have run festivals on the same basis, Prague taking up the tradition in 2002. The Prague Fringe Festival brings a great mixture of theatre, music and dance to the Czech audiences. You can choose from a huge offer of shows in English (this year, performers are coming from Australia, Canada, the USA, Scotland, England, Ireland, but also from France, Iceland, Poland ...), some events are also nonverbal or subtitled. All programme happens in the very heart of Prague in Malá Strana. A unique cultural experience!!
